Two field experiments were conducted during Kharif and Rabi of 2014–15 to evaluate the bio-efficacy and economics of certain new insecticidal molecules against spotted pod borer, Maruca vitrata (Fab.) on French bean. Experimental results showed that the number of larva were lowest in plots treated with indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 0.30 ml/l and the cost effectiveness of indoxacarb was also high and very favorable with incremental cost-benefit ratios of 1: 3.48 and 1: 3.54 respectively during Kharif and Rabi.
