The spatial distribution of fruit borer (Helicoverpa armigera) infestation was studied and the various indices of dispersion, viz., variance mean ratio, exponent k, patchiness index, Lloyd's mean crowding, David and Moore's index, Morisita's index, Cole's index, Taylor's power law revealed that the tomato of fruit borer insect exhibited aggregated or contagious pattern of distribution in the field. This also indicates that fruit borer population followed negative binomial distribution pattern as an alternative of random distribution. The parameters are useful to the field study as well as to estimate the population density of fruit borer.
