A Field experiment was conducted at the Regional Horticultural Research Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat, India during the kharif season of the year 2011 to study the effect of staking systems on incidence of anthracnose in greater yam (Dioscorea alata L.). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with four replications which comprised with six treatments viz., Control: No staking (T1); Central bamboo pole staking: (T2); Greater yam + Elephant foot yam: (T3,); Greater yam + Sweet corn maize: (T4); Greater yam + Pigeon pea: (T5) and Greater yam + Sorghum: (T6). The staking system of elephant foot yam was recorded minimum incidence of the anthracnose disease (1.37 score) than other staking systems.
