The present study was conducted in three talukas [viz., (i) Jhalod, (ii) Dahod and (iii) Fatehpura of Dahod district in Gujarat state, India. Goat farming is the employment generating occupation in rural area with low risk involvement and dependable source of income to 40% of the rural population below poverty line in India and too many who do not possess any land. For betterment of goat farming, it is necessary to understand the goat keepers of the tribal area and their requirement and their opinion for goat farming. In tribal area majority of people had adopting goat farming because they understand advantages of the goat farming. Major suggestion obtain from the goat keepers were fodder should be made available at reasonable cost, promote supply quality concentrate feed for goat farming at reasonable price, need to establish regular and reliable marketing network, timely availability of loan/subsidy and need to develop special breeds of goat for goat farming. This finding will help for the policy maker agency for promote goat farming.
