An experiment was conducted during 2014–15 at MARS of University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur to know the optimumdate of sowing for lesser incidence of insect pests and maximum activity of natural enemies. Gum guar crop was sown at fortnightly intervals from first fortnight of July to first fortnight of October and the results indicated that second fortnight of September and first fortnight of October sown crops exhibited comparatively lower incidence of insect pests along with better seed yield performance (10.99 and 14.45 q/ha respectively) during which the natural enemy population recorded was quite more.
