Impact of Sujeevana Programme on Farm Productivity of Beneficiary Farmers in Tumkur District

Abstract

The study was conducted in Kunigal taluk of Tumkur district, where a multi stake holder program of Sujeevana was initiated by IDF in 2009–10. Sujeevana programme has covered 12 villages of Kunigal taluk. Out of these twelve villages, six villages were selected for the study. The data were collected from a sample of 120 beneficiary farmers. The study revealed that the cropping pattern majorly in paddy, ragi, jowar and flower crops. In case of cropping intensity, there was an increased from single cropping to double cropping. With respect to crop yield, the yield of paddy increased by 78.26 per cent, ragi (84.61%) and flower crops (86.99%). There was a significant increase in average milk yield (1.07 lt).
