The mortality rate under different birth weight groups (< 1.75 kg, 1.75 to 2.00 kg, 2.01 to 2.20, 2.21 to 240 and > 2.40) of Konkan Kanyal goats under farm condition of Konkan region of Maharashtra during 2003–2013. The overall mortality was recorded as 3.60 per cent while average mortality of year-wise was highest (6.42%) in 2007 and lowest (0.95%) in 2011 and average higher percentage of mortality was obtained intriplet (11.11%) type of birth, followed by twins (5.31%) and single (2.41%) type of birth. The major causes of mortality were recorded as lumber paralysis (34.37%) indigestion (25.93%), blot (18.52%), enteritis (12.50%), tympany (11.11%) and food poisoning (7.40%). The mortality rate was higher in summer season of study and decreased due to scientific and technical management practices.
