The goal of the present study was to assess the physical growth status among 0 to 5-year-old children in rural population of Jawali taluka of Satara district. The study was carried out with the help of anthropometry and various demographic factors. The data was collected using anthropometry-[height, weight, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), head circumference (HC) and chest circumference (CC)] by following standard methods and interview schedules for other demographic factors. The data was compared with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) (1990) standard values. Weight for age, height for age, MUAC, HC/CC ratio and MUAC/HC (Kanawati index) were used to assess the physical growth status. Data reveals that the observed mean values of weight and height of the children were less than the ICMR standard values for boys and girls for all age groups. As per Waterlow's Classification, 38% children were stunted. According to Indian Academy of Paediatrics Classification, it shows 67% children were wasted. MUAC shows 3.16% girls and 6.25% boys were severely malnourished. Kanawati index shows 3.57% boys were severely malnourished.
