Status of education among the muslim community: In context of Ghazipur, U.P.

Education is not only a facility but an important element of indication of the socio-economic and political development of a community. The paper attempts to study the Education system of district Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh and delibrate on the basic causes of the educational backwardness of the Muslims of the district. Why the Muslims are hesitant in acquiring modern (Duniyavi) education? And what is causing their backwardness such that they are getting aloof of the main stream. According to census 2011, the Muslims account for 14.6% of the total population of India. These are the largest population among the minority communities still are of the lowest educational level and are far more backward when compared in the social, economic and political contents
