This article is a critic on the nature of research of the indigenous peoples with case reference to the Nagas. The arguments are conceptualised from observations on the rationales, methodologies and construction of indigenous peoples by non-indigenous researchers and academicians. It presents a contemporary indigenous scholars’ dilemma ranging from the ghost of the past that mis-presented the indigenous communities and the continuing distraught that continues to haunt everyday lives of indigenous people despite the global affirmations for inclusiveness. The objective of this paper is to present an indigenous’ criticism on the endless numbers of researches dedicated to them.
