Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) has escalated into a global health crisis, particularly due to its chronic nature and associated long-term complications. Conventional treatments primarily emphasize pharmaceutical interventions and lifestyle modifications. In contrast, anthropotherapy offers a holistic approach that integrates bio-cultural, social, and behavioral dimensions into patient care. In view of the same backdrop, the present paper explores the feasibility of anthropotherapeutic treatment for diabetes, drawing on interdisciplinary studies in medical anthropology, traditional healing systems, and the socio-cultural context of health. It attempts to assess the current body of evidence, discuss the potential benefits of anthropotherapy in diabetes management, and suggest future research directions.
