Abstract

This study especially takes into account, food collection and hunting techniques of the tribes residing in the Bastar region. Moreover their traditional knowledge, and social organization. Additionally, it discusses the culture of these tribal communities based on their connection with the social system and environment. This helps us understand their dedication to the ways of life and cultural values, as well as the foundations of organization, sensitivity, and cooperative lifestyle, which are definitely worth to learn and implement. The unique knowledge of indigenous people based on their cultural experiences, guides human and ecosystem interactions. Tribal communities have been depended on thus knowledge system for centuries. Through this research paper, the aim is to gain cultural and social insights from this knowledge, which is preserved through sacred sites, rituals, and cultural heritage. The tribes living in Bastar have been residing in forests since ancient times, earning their living by collecting forest products, hunting, and fishing. Members possessing this specialized knowledge become experts in these tasks, thereby ensuring the livelihood of the community. Indigenous knowledge system teaches harmony with nature.
