Sequence of Eruption of permanent teeth in boys and girls of toda tribals of Nilgiri Hills

The purpose of this study was to determine the timing and sequence of eruption of permanent teeth in boys and girls of Toda tribal of Nilgiri hills. The sample consists of 104 boys and 96 girls of Toda tribal aged between 5–21 years. The criterion for tooth emergence was the appearance of the tooth through the gingiva. The sequence of emergence was determined by referring to the mean age of tooth emergence of individual tooth and conforms to the general trend seen in other studies.
