Children play significant role in shaping the future of any society. In this backdrop, the present paper is an attempt to bring forward a strategy for children residing in slums of Lucknow district in particular and that for whole India in general, to motivate them to attempt the school and procure education. It also examines the educational upliftment of slum children and explores the possibilities as to how these children may be linked to the main stream of education through community participation and inclusive approach of educational development. The paper also attempts to build a model for such children who are either drop outs/who never enrolled in schools or who are over aged.
