Population education is an important component of family-planning programmes. Women's perception towards family planning can influence the socioeconomic development of a community. This study examines the extent of attitude among women regarding population education and various socioeconomic factors affecting them. The results indicate that there is a significant association between various socioeconomic factors and perceptions of women towards population education. This study also analyses the effect that mass media can have on social behaviour and examines the effectiveness of the broadcast media, specifically radio and televisions, in creating and disseminating family-planning information on matters of number and spacing of children.
