Abstract

Rag pickers belonged to poor socio-economic status and poor standard of living. The social conditions in which these children live have often precluded them from actual enjoyment of the right to have access to health facilities at per with other sections of the society. This paper is an endeavour to closely study the socio-health situation of rag picker children's an effort is made to understand their work condition, social status in the societies, impact of present occupation on these childrens and the problem faced by them. The present work exposes the children to health hazards and they also develop social evils and different kind of problems, which affect their overall future development. The present paper has significance because problems of these children have hardly been studied and it is believed that life of these rag pickers is more difficult. The paper is an endeavour to elaborate the subject matter of Hazaribag municipal area.
