Abstract

This paper critically analyses the standard and situation of education in India. It throws light on the pros and cons of the Indian educational system. This paper gives a broad spectrum of the various structural forms and disciplines of Indian education. This also provides a detailed description of the loopholes of each part of the system. This paper tells its drawbacks and hurdles. It also tells what the ‘actual Indian education system’ should be, how it can be achieved, and in what way we, the people of India, and other intellectual bodies may help in achieving this goal. The paper will not be laying too much emphasis on the drawbacks of India's public education system because it has been an issue well debated in the past and the main flaws have already been pointed out before. I will be focussing on how the education system's failure is leading to another social issue of income inequality and hence suggest certain policies to improve India's education system and reduce inequality.
