The present paper attempts to analyze the participation of women in MNREGs as well as its impact on women especially in the arena of decision-making and social security with special reference to the district of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. The paper is the outcome of Anthropological fieldwork conducted on two hundred women of 10 different villages of five blocks in Allahabad. The study reveals that the MNREGs have noticeable impact on the women involve in employment opportunities and it has increased the feeling of social security among women of the area.
