Niti Ayog-A step towards transformation

The National Institution for transforming India Ayog (NITI AYOG), an innovation of the Modi Government has replaced the sixty years old planning commission, known as the ‘Super Cabinet ’. The Niti Ayog which is termed as ‘Policy Think Tank ’is different from the planning commission in many ways. It has made provision for involving the States as active partners in the formulation of Developmental Policies. Headed by the Prime Minister, the Commission is composed of Specialist of different fields. As against the work style of the Planning Commission, the Niti Ayog aims at adopting a ‘Bottom to Top approach ’instead of the ‘Top to Bottom Approach ’which would help achieving the goal of establishing "Cooperative Federalizm in the Country".
