Abstract

In the present study, the main purpose is examination of relative and incremental information contents of EVA and REVA for prediction of incomes. For that purpose, the relation between the operating income of the next period and variations in the data on EVA, REVA, operating income and operation cash flows for the companies listed in Tehran Stocks Exchange from 2001 through 2011 were tested. The results of testing the hypotheses show that still the operating income as the most important accounting variable in financial and investment decisions are paid attention by decision makers in the stocks exchange and in most cases it has more content information than other variables. According to the findings of this study, EVA, REVA and OCF could not show a significant relation with the operating income or incremental information content.
