Abstract

Agriculture always is influenced by a lot of natural disasters, such as flood, drought, and pests attack and like these ones. On the other hand, various factors such as price fluctuation, yield and cost changes as well as natural factors cause risk and uncertainty in agriculture. Therefore, decision making for designing farming systems in such circumstances need appropriate and efficient measures which involved mentioned factors. Different patterns emerged and developed in recent decades which involved risks and uncertainties. In this study, application of Fuzzy Goal Programming method shows how this model can be effectively used for modeling and solving land allocation problems in the agricultural systems for optimal production of the seasonal products during a year. This study was done in the Sistan region of the Sistan and Baluchestan province in Iran. Data and information, for this study, relates to the years of 2003–2011 when the area was under drought. The results were calculated and set in 9 scenarios. Those indicate that there is maize in most scenarios (optimal cropping patterns) and according to Euclidean values the best scenario is scenario number four (production goal).
