Abstract

As De Bono (1990) said, in current situation of uncertainty and unstable, financial institutions in order to move forward quickly in the path of development; they not only must expand their tangible and intangible resources as well internal capabilities, but also must respond to the environmental changes by paying more attention to environment. They should enhance their competitive strength for consolidating their position among competitors. The organisations which have acted in more outstanding manner in managing unexpected events are more conscious in comparison of other ones. Therefore, it is significant to be attentive to strategic intelligence due to its nature. In this research the importance of paying attention to employing and enhancing strategic intelligence and its dimensions in Iran's financial institution from their senior managers point of view is investigated. For this purpose, first of all the questionnaire of strategic intelligence according to the strategic intelligence framework was designed. Next it was distributed among 72 senior managers of trust institutions and banks of Iran whom are experts in strategic management and have both academic and practical experiences in this area. After collecting data, analysis was done with SPSS20 software. The results show that, it is necessary for Iran's financial institutions to take strategic intelligence and its dimensions into consideration.
