Organizational performance improvement, by nature, is an evitable necessity for survival and growth of organizations in the current era. Today, organizations are faced by a multiplicity of simple and complex problems, which, if addressed weakly, may cause organizations to lose their competitive position. To improve organizational performances and to solve such problems, creative problem solving techniques become very important. This research aims to study the effect of using Six Sigma-focused Value engineering technique on performance improvement of manufacturing system in food industry. In this research, to carry out phases of Six Sigma-focused Value engineering technique, a comparative study along with qualitative coding was implemented. For implementation of Six Sigma-focused value engineering technique, tools and procedures of the two said techniques were used. Statistical population in this research comprised Khosh Khorak Sina Food Industrial Company. The research findings suggested that implementation of Six Sigma-focused value engineering technique resulted in maintaining product quality, reduced wastage, increased manufacturing rate, and reduced manufacturing costs, and consequently, in improved overall performance of manufacturing system.
