Organizational trust and deviance behavior (a case of Payame Noor University of Isfahan province, Iran)

Abstract

This research aims at studying the impact of organizational trust on organizational deviance. The relation between the triple aspects of organizational trust including integrity, commitment, and reliability with organizational deviance is studied among employees of Isfahan Province PNU branches in this research. The research is of descriptive-survey category. The statistical universe includes all the employees of Isfahan Province Payam-e-Noor University branches amounting to 800 people, 170 of whom were selected as samples by Simple Random Sampling method. Means of data collection include Organizational Trust Questionnaire developed by Chathoth et al. (2011) (integrity aspect with 90% RC, commitment aspect with 87% RC, and trust aspect with 76% RC) and Organizational Deviance Questionnaire developed by Bennet & Robinson (2000) with 84% RC. The t-test and path analysis were used to analyze data. The results indicated significant negative impact of integrity, reliability, and organizational trust aspects on organizational deviance. The results did not indicate a significant impact of commitment aspect on organizational deviance.
