The effect of managers and supervisors personality traits on the employees’ organizational commitment

Abstract

Considering that one of the effective factors on the organizational commitment of employees is their personality, the researcher has done the research with the objective of analyzing the effect of managers’ personality traits on the organizational commitment of employees’.

This is a descriptive study of the causative comparative type which is done in a statistical sample of 44 managers and supervisors and 119 employees which was examined and analyzed using the analytical and descriptive statistics, T Student test (independent T), one side analytical variance test and Colmogrov and Smirnov test.

The findings showed that managers and supervisors who had higher eagerness for new experiments, compatibility, sense of duty, their subordinate employees had more emotional organizational commitment. But the result was the oppositein the mental disorder trait, and extroversion had no effect on employees’ organizational commitment.

According to the results, employees’ emotional and organizational commitment was low under the influence t of low level of the personality traits of eagerness to new experiments and compatibility and also high level of psychological abnormality, and due to this reason, evaluation of people's personality before selecting those seams necessary to increase employees’ stickiness.
