Deep Searching of Emotional Intelligence and its Effect on Personnel Performance (Case Study: Payam-E-Noor University)

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is considered as one of emerging areas in organizational and social psychology for its important role in working atmosphere by organizational behavior researchers (particularly in management and psychology fields). The present study has paid to analysis the relationship between emotional intelligence and performance of Payam-e-Noor University personnel. The research is taken into account for the aim look of practical kind and from collecting data point of view is a kind of survey from correlation branch. Statistical community of the research including all professors and personnel of Damghan Payam-e-Noor University with 243 persons and for sampling 148 persons were chosen by simple random method and Morgan table and questionnaires were distributed among them. The analysis of content and 5 experts’ opinion has been used for considering the validity of the questionnaires and they confirmed the questions of the research. Also the coefficient Cronbach's alpha was used for considering permanency of questionnaires that in total the questionnaire related to emotional intelligence coefficient 0.89 and for questionnaire related to performance of personnel coefficient 0.92 shows the high permanency of the questionnaire. Kerri's emotional intelligence questionnaire (2007) was used for collecting data with 25 questions in four areas and Stephen's questionnaire (2005) with 39 questions has been used for personnel performance. The results showed that there is mean and positive correlation between personnel's performance and emotional intelligence. Also multi-fold regression test results with step by step method shows that social skills with 0.816 got the highest share and managing on sentiments with 0.598 got the least share. The results of single factor variance analysis test and also Tukey test shows that there is only a mean difference between the ideas of those having diploma certificate and those with other educational levels.
