Tomato cultivation in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh: some empirical evidences

Commercial tomato cultivation in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh has tremendous impacts on lives of the people. It has increased employment opportunities, income, saving as well as investment of the cultivator in particular and enhanced socio-economic development of the district in general. Infact, it gives a level playing ground to all categories of people to get participation into it. Commercial tomato cultivation in the West Kameng district has been providing employment avenues to women, children, adult and old aged persons as a catalyst of inclusive growth. The present study makes an attempt to study number of workers and number of working days of tomato growers in the study area. Also, it endeavors to analyze levels of participation of children, adult and old aged person in commercial tomato cultivation in the study area.
