Survey of Walking-Oriented in Central Part of Ghaemshahr City (Approach of Assessment of Urban Enviornment Quality in View of Form and Skeleton)

Aside from the cities had high capability to walk and walking as the major pattern of movement of people living in city centers, low cost or easy availability to all sectors of society is considered but with the industrial revolution and invention of the automobile in cities, pedestrian were ignored. Due to air pollution, reducing personal vehicles and fossil fuel, urban planning approach was formed towards survival of the issue, ability to increase walk-oriented in cities. This research tries to evaluate quality of urban spaces with the walk-oriented ability in city center of Ghaemshahr City in view of users. In this line, quality of sidewalk was studied subsequent to urban form and fabric criterion consists of 14 subindices. This research has been conducted on mixed documentary and field methods, theoretical fundamentals were also extracted with study of theoretical fundamentals of qualitative part and then quantitative one. To collect data was used through questionnaire. Also for undefined exact number of statistical society, 384 samples were selected based on Gersi and Morgan tables and then were directly questioned randomly. The hypotheses were tested on descriptive and inferential statistics through SPSS software. The results show that qualitative aspect of form and fabric components in city center is low and undesirable upon respondents’ opinions.
