Abstract

Workers participation is an important concept that is being concentrated in the organisation, especially from the decision making perspective in the organisations. There are many ways to see that the worker's participation in the organisation takes place. Workers’ involvement appears to depend upon the sense that the information that workers think to be vital is being shared. Involvement of workers in management decision making is considered as a way of motivating the workers in order to lead to the creation of practical work attitude and high productivity. The study is also essential to understand the benefits of worker participation to organisation. Workers’ participation has been viewed as capable of providing a conducive work environment, an opportunity to apply the fullest potentials with an obvious aim of pursuing corporate goal of the organization. With the idea of analysing the actual impact of workers’ participation, and the factors influencing it, it is essential to probe more deeply into this subject. Workers’ participation can only be understood in its economic and social perspective using a common framework of inquiry which will be helpful in identifying the strategic factors. Also an attempt has been made to suggest a conceptual framework for workers’ participation in management.
