Evaluating the Perception of Members, Employees and Management Committee of Co-Operative Societies with Regard To Schemes of ICDP

Co-operative institutions exist all over the world providing essential services, which would otherwise be unattainable. Cooperation has aims other than economical as well. The earnest cooperator seeks to apply co-operative methods to all purposes of social life. Around the world modern co-operatives have developed for over 200 years. Co-operatives have many advantages in tackling problem like poverty alleviation, employment generation and food security and also have the potential to deliver goods and services in areas where both the State and Private sectors have failed. The main focus of the present study is to evaluate the perception of the members, employees and management committee members with regard to the schemes provided by the ICDP. For this primary data has been collected with the help of questionnaires. Co-operative movement in Himachal Pradesh is showing a good progress. There are 551 co-operative institutions functioning in Kullu district as on 31.03.2007, out of which 313 PACS are serving the rural economy of Kullu district by the way of providing them agricultural credit, fertilizer and consumer goods.
