India is one of the fastest growing economies all over the world and a live example which depicts the development is the growth of the telecommunication industry in India, especially the in the field of mobile communication. There is a continuous increase in disposable income; there has been a radical shift in the attitude and aspirations of the consumers. Mobile phone has become essential parts of personal and business life. The recent growth of mobile phone usage is an observable fact that crosses all age and gender boundaries. Due to fierce competition in the field of mobile communication the need arises for the study to know how consumer behaves in the time of purchase. This paper is an attempt to find the variables/factors that affect the consumer buying behavior. The study of consumer behavior understands of how individuals or organizations behave in the purchase situation. Results were analyzed from the stratified sample selected randomly and statistical tools like Chi- square, Bi-variate correlation method were used. The results indicate that that the usage of mobiles certainly does not appeal equally to the persons of different age groups, there is a high degree of correlation between ages & Monthly Salary of usage of Mobiles phones, the educational qualification does not effect the selection of a mobile, selection of mobile is made on the services derived and hold for longer duration based on the quality of the product.
