Abstract

Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine is one of the most popular destinations for religious tourism in India. A large number of people visit this place all over the year especially during Sawan and Navratras. It is the duty of government and the authorities to provide basic tourism infrastructure facilities to the tourists. In spite of huge tourism infrastructure facilities, visitors face several problems while visiting the Shrine. The study is based on a sample of 100 pilgrims. The data so obtained has been tabulated and analysed education-wise and pilgrim-wise. The major findings reveal some problems faced by the pilgrims at Katra, en-route & Bhawan and suggest remedies to resolve them.
