Abstract

Women are vital and productive workers in National economy. “Concept of Bharat Nirman”, “Feel Good”, “Socio Economic Development” and “Good Governance” is not possible without participation and empowerment of women. Women's protection, welfare, participation and empowerment are, thus, important for human development and growth in economy. Women constitute about 47% of the total population of the State. This paper provides a complete look about present status of women in J&K, Occupational Status of Women, and Unemployment rate for J&K State, vis-a-vis All India. And suggest suitable measures to overcome the problems.
