Bacterial spot {Xanthomonas vesicatoria (Doidge) Dye} is a serious disease affecting tomato crop in the mid hills of Himachal Pradesh. The paper reviews the research work conducted so far on different aspects of the disease and its management through chemical and biological means. Keeping in view the seed and soil borne nature of the pathogen, this disease needs constant monitoring.
