Abstract

In order to overcome the severe market competition, the rose growers throughout the globe have reacted in intensifying and artificializing their production. In vitro propagation technique has been viewed as a potential means of propagation and is being used successfully in several breeding programs for bringing about varietal improvement and solving the current problems in the field of rose propagation. In the present paper the work of several researchers, analysts, co-operatives, companies and scientists all over the world has been reviewed with regard to their contribution in the field of in vitro propagation of rose cuitivars.
