Abstract

Soybean contains 40% high quality protein and 20% good quality oil, and plays a major role in world food system but requires the development of stable genotypes across the environments. There is wide range of variation in the varietal performance. Some genotypes perform well in some environments but not so well in others. Plant breeders need to give attention to develop soybean genotypes with consistent high yield potential under varying environmental conditions. In such situations, statistical methods for determining stability of crop varieties in diverse environments are usually used to assist plant breeders in selecting superior varieties.
