Abstract

Application of vermicompost in field crops is gradually gaining popularity, but it has remained unsolved exactly how much of it should be applied. While many scientists have tested it by substituting different proportions of chemical N fertilizers, some others have found good results by applying it with the recommended dose of fertilizer of N P and K. On the other hand techniques are developing for combined use of vermicompost with other biotic sources in organic farming. In the present article an attempt has been made to review the work done on all the above aspect in different field crops and cropping systems involving them.
