Feeds requirement of increasing livestock population with the increasing demand of milk, meat and eggs by the ever increasing population, within a limited cultivated land could be met by introducing GM crops. The GM crops can potentially benefit the human as well as livestock sectors as these increase crop yields per hectare of cultivated land. As a matter of fact these may assist for improvement of various quality traits of animals, can be a safer fodder in terms of energy/protein source and further improvement of animal productivity as well as their overall performance. Thus the GM crops can ultimately pave a way to provide sufficient foods and feeds to the growing world human and livestock population.
