Transgenesis is radically a new technology for altering the characteristics of animals by directly changing the genetic material. There has been rapid development in the use of genetically engineered animals as investigators have found an increasing number of applications for the technology. Transgenic technology holds great potential in agriculture, medicine and industry. This article lays emphasis on the Bio-medical applications of transgenesis.
