Effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and farm yard manure levels on stem rot of cauliflower caused by Rhizoctonia solani kuhn

Pot experiments conducted on the effect of different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers as well as farm yard manure on the incidence of cauliflower stem rot revealed that the higher doses of phosphorus i.e. 75 Kg/ha applied alongwith 100Kg or 125 Kg of nitrogen/ha gave significantly less disease incidence i.e. 7.34 and 19.31 per cent respectively compared to 21.34 per cent in unamended soil. Increase in dosage of farm yard manure from 25 to 75 t/ha, resulted in increase in disease severity to the extent of 116%.
