Abstract

Studies on population fluctuations of red pumpkin beetle on muskmelon, reveal that the overwintering beetle become active at average temperature 20°C and relative humidity 89 per cent. Maximum population of beetles were at average temperature 28.8°C. Correlation of pest population with temperature was positive and relative humidity was negative. Regression analysis revealed that there was significant effect of temperature and non significant effect of relative humidity on pest population.
