The field experiments for three successive years were conducted during khanf and rabi seasons of 1996-97t 1997–98 and 1998–99 to test the feasibility of growing isabgol (Plantago ollata) after harvest short duration kharif legume crops for good monetary return. The highest seed yield (992 kg/ha) of isabgol was obtained in the plots where groundnut was grown in kharif season. The maximum monetary return (Rs. 67000/ha) was also obtained in groundnut (khari/) + isabgol (rabl) cropping system. However, it was at par with the soyabean (kharil)+isabgol (rabl) and pigeonpea (kharif) + isabgol (rabl).
