Variability studies in F₃ populations of greengram [Vigna radiata (L.) wilczek]

The extent of variability available for pods and seed yield was assessed in eight F₃ populations of greengram. Among the crosses, KM 2 x ML 131 and Vamban 1x MGG 319 recorded superior mean performance for pods and seed yield besides registering high GCV, heritability and genetic advanc.e for these characters. Hence, these two crosses could be utilized for further selection to obtain high yielding segregants.
