Twenty hybrids along with three checks were evaluated during rabi, 1998. Among 20 hybrids tested, 7–1 A X RHA 265-1 exhibited significant heterosis over best check for plant height. Four hybrids viz., 7–1 A X RHA 265,852 A X RHA. 285-1, 7–1 AX 60-1 and 7–1 A X IB 20 recorded significant heterosis for seed yield over KBSH I, the highest yielding check there by suggesting the exploitation of heterosis in these hybrids through cytoplasmic male sterility and techa:aology of large scale seed production.
