Abstract

The laboratory experiment was carried out during 1994–95 to 1996–97. The pooled results revealed that all the fungicidal seed treatments were found significantly effective in improving the gennination, shoot length and root length of black point infected seed. Carbendazim 50 WP (0.1%) recorded highest gennination (91.50%), shoot length (9.37 cm) and root length (12.35 cm) followed by Thiram 75 WP (0.25%) and Dividend 30 WS (0.25%). The per cent increase in germination, shoot length and root length of treated seed was recorded in the range of 5.53 to 19.00,9.03 to 25.82 and 10.74 to 30.68 respectively over untreated seed.
