Abstract

Twenty plant species belonging to twelve different families tested, Brassica campestris var. rapa of Brassicaceae, Amaranthus viridis L. of Amaranthaceae and Cleome viscosa L. of Capparaceae families were successfully infected by Albugo Cruciferarum, the white rust of mustard. The infection was 60.0, 20.8 and 17.6 per cent on B. campestris var. rapa, A. viridis and C. viscosa respectively. Thus, only these three plant species had acted as host of the pathogen.
