Forty genetically, diverse chickpea genotypes were studied for genotypic and phenotypic variabilities, heritability and genetic advance in 18 quantitative traits. Highest genotypic variability was exhibited by 100 seed weight and was followed by seeds pu plant, pods per plant and seeds per pod. 100 seed weight also expressed highest heritability and expected genetic advance. Whereas seeds per plant, seeds per pod and pods per plant exhibited high expected genetic advance with considerable amount of heritability.
