Abstract

A field experiment Was laid out on lady's finger {Abelmoschus esculentus (L) Moench (Var. Parbhani Kranti)} under rainfed condition during May-July of 1997 and 1998. It was found that the application of 20 t/ha FYM supplemented with 50% recommended dose of chemical fertilizer i.e., 30kg N, 13.2 kg P and i6.6 kg K per hectare gave highest yield (46.3 q/ha) as compared to 100% NPK alone. The combination of 25% NPK with 20 t/ha FYM gave almost equa1 yield compared with 100% NPK, suggesting the possibility of 75% substitution of chemical fertilizers with 20 t/ha FYM in lady's finger cultivation.
