Allelopattrlc effects of Ageratum conyzoides and Calofropis gigantea on germination and seedling vigour pf rice were investigated. The aqueous extracts of root, stem, leaf and stem+leaf of these weeds were used for study. The extracts of different parts of these weeds produced significant effects on germiantion and seedling vigour or rice. Agreatum leaf extract identified as a promising extract and produced maximum root and shoot elongation without affecting the germination of rice seeds.
