Abstract

A study was conducted during rabi season 1997–98. The incoming, reflected and net solar radiations were measured at various phenological stages in wheat crop (RSN). The net solar radiations over wheat crop ranged between 531–811 w/m2, while remotely sensed net solar radiations (RSN) varied from 831 to 1281 w/m2/sr. A regression equation was developed between solar radiation measured and estimated by remote sensing which is" of the form:

RSN = 135.15 + 0.505 R'SN, R2 = 0.86

This regression equation can be used to convert remotely sensed solar radiation into actual net solar radiation.
